J ai Maruti 800, Sharan’s upcoming film is ready for release and is set to hit the
screens in April. The film is produced by Manjula Ramesh under
the banner of Jayanna Combines and directed by choreographer
Harsha. The film stars Shruthi Hariharan, Shubha Punja, Sadhu
Kokila, Arun Sagar, Loki and Madhu among others.
According to Sharan, Jai Maruti 800 will combine Harsha’s style
of film-making with Sharan’s comedy style. He said the film will
be a new combination of sorts within the framework of comedy.
He said the comedy will be loud and has added a new
dimension to the story. Sharan said a new kind of comedy has
been tried in the movie.
Sharan said he is sporting a six pack abs in the movie but
clarified that Jai Maruti 800 is not an action film. He said as the
title suggests there will be a link to Lord Anjaneya in the story
without specifying the details.
Jai Maruti 800 has been shot in locales of Belagavi,
Bailahongala, Kottur, Bengaluru, Channapatna, Kanakapura and
Ballari. A set was erected in Bengaluru to picturise songs while
two songs have been shot in Malaysia. Arjun Janya has scored
the music. Swamy is the cameraman.
Sharan is currently working on another movie Nataraja Service
which has Mayuri of Ashwini Nakshatra fame playing the female
lead.
